Exams
On your first visit you'll receive a comprehensive exam. This is a more thorough exam consisting of a full examination of your teeth, gums, soft tissue, bite, and jaw joints. It allows our doctors and hygienists to work as a team to determine your dental needs and plan for your long-term oral health care.
At least once a year you will receive a periodic exam that continues to monitor dental health and check for changes in tooth structure and overall oral health.
Limited exams are done on an as-needed basis to focus on dental problems due to pain or bite issues.
Dental Hygiene
We have two licensed dental hygienists on staff. Our hygienists work as a team to meet the requirements of all your family, no matter the age. We recommend two cleanings per year for regular hygiene patients and three to four for our perio maintenance patients. Our staff members stay up to date on the latest products and are a valuable resource for questions and concerns about your mouth.
Fillings
At Artisan Dental, we place composite, tooth-colored fillings instead of the old silver-colored amalgam. This composite bonds chemically to the tooth and gives you a stronger and healthier restoration that is also more esthetic.
Crowns
Our dental crowns (and bridges) are not your mother's gray, discolored porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns that chip and break. Our crowns are made of all-porcelain with no metal substructure. This provides a beautiful, natural-looking crown that is actually stronger that the old crowns containing metal. Our all-porcelain crowns are also a great option for people with metal allergies.
